The Wyoming Switchboard Network (WSN) is a collection of distance education providers that deliver coursework to K-12 students. The WSN website provides access to the current distance education courses available and information about the various DE program providers: WyomingSwitchboard.net
Statewide Distance Education Program Providers
The following program providers are approved for the statewide delivery of distance education coursework.
The following program providers are approved to deliver distance education coursework to Wyoming school districts that submit a credit course application waiver.
Self-Contained Distance Education Program Providers
The following program providers are approved members of the WSN and have opted to deliver distance education coursework only to local students.
- Carbon County School District #1 (Rawlins High School)
- Johnson County School District #1 (Kaycee High School)
Policy Documents
Chapter 41 Distance Education Rules (View) - These rules provide a uniform process for all
distance education courses offered by Wyoming school districts or from which academic
credit will be transferred to or accepted by a Wyoming school district. The provisions of
this Chapter shall apply to all distance education courses offered by Wyoming school
districts or distance education courses from which academic credit will be transferred to
or accepted by a Wyoming school district.
Resident District Handbook (View) - For each student receiving distance education coursework, the student's resident district is required to complete a Distance Learning Plan to ensure the delivery method is appropriate to the individual student’s
learning capabilities, monitor the student’s progress through the DE course(s), facilitate necessary
instructional support, and maintain the student's records. The resident district is responsible for verifying
the distance education courses are approved by the Wyoming Department of Education and fulfills both
state and local district program standards.
Student Enrollment and Monitoring (View or Download) - This webcast provides an introduction to key distance education definitions, information to consider prior to enrolling students, requirements when enrolling students and monitoring their progress. A dual-credit DLP template is available for use with post-secondary institutions; please refer to the directions, webcast, or contact either of the distance education consultants for more information on its use.

Joining the Wyoming Switchboard Network
Wyoming public school districts that are interested in joining the WSN should review the process to join which provides the information required to become either a statewide or self-contained distance education program provider.
Wyoming post-secondary institutions that are interested in joining the WSN should review the process to join which provides the required information to become a post-secondary program provider.
2010-2011 Distance Education Grant (Closed)
All Wyoming school districts, community colleges and the University of Wyoming are eligible to apply for the Distance Education Grant (DEG). To receive Distance Education Grant (DEG) funding, the DE Program Provider must be an active member of the Wyoming Switchboard Network (WSN).
