The Wyoming Deaf-Blind Clinic has expanded and evolved into a comprehensive and diagnostic clinic. As most of you know, The Wyoming Department of Education in conjunction with The Wyoming Deaf-Blind Project, sponsor the biannual Deaf-Blind Diagnostic Clinic. Due to these changes, it is time to break with the past, move forward, and have the name reflect the fact that all students, with any impairment/disability are welcome to attend. The Clinic offers assessment, evaluation, and intervention strategies for the IEP and resources for materials. The Wyoming Diagnostic Clinic incorporates both the medical and educational model. When sending your student, you can expect to have reports from the following medical specialists: Audiologists, ENT, Genetics Counselor, Low Vision Specialist, Nutritionist, Optometrist/Ophthalmologist, Pediatrician and Psychologist. In addition to the medical assessment, your student will receive an assessment by a transdisciplinary team, The Wyoming Educational Intervention Assessment Team, (WEIAT). WEIAT is made up of, Augmentative Communication Specialists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Teachers for the Hearing Impaired, Vision Specialist, and Orientation & Mobility.
